Newhall Gardens is located in the Newhallville neighborhood of the City of New Haven and provides 26 one-floor homes with a preference for elderly and disabled residents. These are 1-bedroom units that include a bathroom and living and dining areas, and some are compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Uniform Federal Accessibilities Standards (UFAS). Off-street parking is available. Parks and restaurants are accessible.

The development was converted from the low-income public housing program to project-based rental assistance under HUD’s Rental Assistance Demonstration Program (RAD). The sources of funds include 4% LIHTC and Moving to Work and HUD Capital Funds from Elm City Communities. The total cost of the project was approximately $4.7 million. Censere coordinated the project from conception to closing.
